Silver Shield Completes Drilling at Welsh Property; Commences Drilling at Wilder-Duggan

BURLINGTON, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - July 8, 2008) - Silver Shield Resources Corp. (TSX VENTURE:SSR) ("Silver Shield" or "the Company") today announced that the Company has completed the drilling at its Welsh Silver Mine Property in Mickle Township in Elk Lake Ontario. The final, large batch of core samples has been sent to Swastika Laboratories in Swastika, Ontario for analysis. The drill has now been mobilized and is on site at the Wilder Mine Property in Donovan Township, 35 kilometres southwest of the Welsh Property. The Company has encountered difficulty in getting the drill rig to the site due to the very harsh and difficult terrain leading to the site. Crews have been driving a road for ten days over the rugged terrain that is now accessible by truck and ATV. The Wilder Mine has never been drilled in the past, and management believes the difficulty of access to the site is the reason that no modern exploration or drilling was carried out at the property. With this new road, the Company has made a commitment to further exploration and development of this exciting prospect.

Silver Shield's corporate strategy has always been to acquire quality silver projects that are in advanced stages beyond grassroots exploration, with the potential to be developed into producing properties. The Wilder Mine is developed by one known shaft to a depth of approximately 50 feet, and one known adit along with various visible silver-cobalt-nickel showings identified to date. Silver Shield has unearthed various trenches and historical workings that they have interpreted and used in planning the phase one diamond drill program. Previous work consisted of trenching, linecutting and sampling. The Company has located the Wilder shaft, as well as several significant trenches in close proximity to the shaft. The Company has enlisted the services of John Brady, the current optioner of the property, to help in locating historical workings and assist Silver Shield in planning a selected, focused drilling plan. Namex Explorations Inc., a former optionee, reported on June 1, 2004 that historical reports show a grab sample, collected adjacent to the Wilder shaft by Claude Wilder, assayed 1,407.6 ounces/ton silver (Report No CB2264 Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources, Oct 1978) An additonal historical sample collected 350 feet northeast of the Wilder Shaft assayed 6.55% Cobalt (Report 002352, sample 68633 Inco Lab Copper Cliff, ON July 1978). Management believes these values to be reliable, however, investors are cautioned these values are from grab samples may not be totally representative of the mineralization on the property.

The planned Wilder drill program is designed to test the structures near the Wilder shaft's reported historical values, and discover and expand new silver targets. Interpretations of geology and geophysics have identified priority drill targets on the property. A phase one 1,500 metre diamond drilling program will commence this week. Interpretation of these drill hole results will determine the direction for phase two of the exploration at the Wilder.

The Company is encouraged about its Welsh Mine drilling results, and is currently awaiting final assay results. At that time all data will be reviewed to plan phase three drilling at Welsh for late 2008/ early 2009.

Assay results released at La Cumbre have also substantiated the Company's belief in the quality of its Mexican holdings. Trenching, linecutting, and soil sampling continues in Mexico at the La Cumbre Property. Silver Shield's geological staff continues to compile all data on the property. A second phase drilling program is planned for late 2008.

Stephen Mlot, P.Eng, a director of the Company, is the Company's Qualified Person as defined by National Instrument 43-101, who has approved the content of this release.
