Silver Shield Completes Letter of Intent on El Carmen Mine Mexico, Plans Bulk Sample of Ore Stockpile

BURLINGTON, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - March 3, 2009) - Silver Shield Resources Corp. (TSX VENTURE:SSR)("Silver Shield" or "the Company") today announced that the Company has, as part of its plan to become an regional operating entity centered in southern Mexico, completed a letter of intent "LOI" on the El Carmen Silver/ Copper Mine in the State of Michoacan, Mexico. The most recent production from the mine was processed at a milling facility in Guerrero State, approximately 57 Km from the site, which is still operating and has custom milling capacity available at reasonable cost.

The El Carmen is characterized by a vein system that has been traced on surface for over 500m. This vein system has been reported to be approximately 1.4 metres in width, with copper grades reported at 4 % and a silver grade of 700 grams/tonne. The property has two shafts that are of approximately 40 metres in depth and with some minor rehabilitation to the adits mining access to the property can be reestablished. The Company believes that there is significant potential to develop additional mineralization in parallel vein structures. The site is easily accessed by road and good infrastructure is in place with a small town located 27 km from the site.

On site is an ore stockpile of approximately 10,000 tonnes. This ore pile is readily available for shipping to the local milling enterprise and Company officials have been in negotiations with the mill to process this ore. Recent grab samples, taken from the ore pile by company staff, have returned an average 1,515 grams of silver and 3 per cent copper. A bulk sample is immediately planned and along with an engineering estimate of the true size of the ore pile to aid company officials in their valuation of the economic benefits of this resource. Once bulk sampling and assays are complete the Company intends to process this ore immediately. The Company has strong infrastructure in the area, and solid ties to local prospectors who have also identified other high-grade targets for acquisition and exploration.

The El Carmen property is located in the same region as the Company's 100% owned La Cumbre Project and the Company's other Mexican properties. The management believes this new property and some further additions in the pipeline, will enable the company to realize its plan to become a regional developer and operator of silver mines.
