Silver Shield Expands Mexican Holdings, Acquires Additional Property at La Cumbre Gold and Silver Property

BURLINGTON, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - June 12, 2008) - Silver Shield Resources Corp. (TSX VENTURE:SSR) ("Silver Shield" or "the Company") today announced that the Company has staked additional property around its La Cumbre gold and silver property is Guerrero State, Mexico. With these acquisitions the company has nearly tripled its landholdings to 11,600 hectares (approx 116 square kilometres or 45 square miles) in this region, and has formed one large block with the La Cumbre concessions.

Silver Shield's two new properties in the La Cumbre area are the El Espiritu Property and the La Florida Property.

The El Espiritu Property is contiguous to the north of the La Cumbre Property and has an area of 4,600 hectares. The Company has performed field work and considers the property to be a highly prospective silver/copper play. The La Florida property is located southeast of El Espiritu and adjacent to the La Cumbre property on the east and has a land mass of 3,000 hectares.

At El Espiritu the company has located one old mine named the La Minita. Mineralization within a shear zone at the shaft consists of malachite and chalcopyrite. A grab sample of this surface altered zone returned 346 ppb Au, 15.2 ppm Ag and 1.72% Cu. Other mineralization located on the property consists of silver bearing veins with malachite and galena.

At La Florida surface reconnaissance and prospecting by Silver Shield has re-discovered two historic mines on the property with adits and shafts that have not been worked for some time since the time of the Spaniards. Malachite staining, a copper mineral, was quite obvious on the walls of the adit. Highly oxidized mineralization in ore piles nearby consists of pyrite, galena, sphalerite and chalcopyrite within a silicified quartz vein system. The Company believes this system is similar to the La Cumbre property that it is exploring now, but perhaps geologically lower in the system.

Work slated to be completed this summer includes, prospecting, line cutting, mapping, and sampling these two quality acquisitions in anticipation of a fall drill program.

In conjunction with the Company's Mexico operations, Silver Shield continues to upgrade infrastructure at its La Cumbre property and is awaiting further drill results from its Phase I initial 2,500 metre program. Assay results on seven holes were released on May 6, including an intersection of 308.28 g/t silver over 3.8 metres. Silver Shield has been actively prospecting additional property in Mexico since the phase one diamond drilling at La Cumbre commenced.
