Silver Shield Makes Final Payment for 100% Ownership of La Cumbre Gold and Silver Property

BURLINGTON, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - July 3, 2008) - Silver Shield Resources Corp. (TSX VENTURE:SSR) ("Silver Shield" or "the Company") today announced that the Company has completed the fourth and final option payment at its La Cumbre gold and silver property in Guerrero State, Mexico. This is the final payment on the property resulting in Silver Shield's 100% ownership of the land. As reported on June 12, the Company has additionally tripled its landholdings at La Cumbre for a total of 11,600 hectares.

Tim Towers, President and CEO, commented, "We were eager to complete the payment at La Cumbre as management considers the property to be highly prospective. We have confirmed that the property is a wide-spread mineralized conduit system yielding results of mineable widths. Silver Shield has completed a 2,500 metre, phase one drilling program, with very encouraging assay results including mineable widths of 308.28 g/t silver over 3.8 metres, 2,159.15 g/t silver and 28.441 g/t gold over 0.55 metres. These results have exceeded management's expectations for the phase one program, and clearly illustrates that further drilling is warranted on the property. A phase two program will commence in late 2008 to extend the veining and expand the resource".

The La Cumbre Mine is a fault hosted epithermal system, hosted within a sequence of flat lying mafic volcanic flows and breccias, along with interbedded conglomeratic sediments. The mineralizing system is typical of other Mexican deposits in style and setting. The epithermal vein systems are usually characterized by having higher gold and silver near the top of the system and becoming more base metal rich at depth. As such, the drilling has confirmed management's original theory upon acquiring the La Cumbre Concession, that veining lies near the top of the system. These styles of mineralization typically extend to a 600 metre depth in Mexico, and can have extended lengths.
