Silver Shield Mexico Expansion Continues Completes Letter of Intent on Jaripo Silver Property

BURLINGTON, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - March 17, 2009) - Silver Shield Resources Corp. (TSX VENTURE:SSR) ("Silver Shield" or "the Company") today announced that the Company has, as part of its plan to become a regional operating entity centered in southern Mexico, completed a letter of intent "LOI" on the Jaripo and Jaripo II concessions (775 Ha) in the State of Michoacan, Mexico. This former producing property is in close proximity to the recently acquired El Carmen Mine and in proximity to a suitable currently operating milling facility in Guerrero State. The Jaripo properties are now surrounded by the 100% company owned concession, Jaripo III of 2,175 hectares, giving a total 2,950 hectares under company control. The site is easily accessed by road, has hydro located 1 km from the site and good infrastructure is in place with a small town located only 8 km from the site.

The Jaripo Property is characterized by a vein system that has been traced on surface for over 4000 m. This vein varies in width but is up to 2 meters wide, strikes northerly and dips approximately 75 degrees to the east. The vein is in contact to the east with limy, calcareous sediment and immediately to the west by a 7-8 meter wide highly carbonated felsic dyke. To the west of the dyke is a limestone. The contact zone of the dyke and the limestone has been brecciated for several meters in width. There are a number of shafts and adits with old workings observed over an 1400m length on the property. Remnants of a 30 tonne/day mill, that was installed about 30 years ago, are apparent on the property. No previous diamond drilling is known to have occurred on the property.

As part of the due diligence the company took 9 samples from various locations on the property:

The company's intent is to perform an initial drilling program to verify the extended length and quality of the veining system, and identify areas where resources can be built quickly. As with all the companies acquisitions, the property is strategically located, has potential for high grade/low cost mining with easy access for drilling and working and therefore lends itself to the company's stated near term production goal. The Company also believes that there is significant potential to develop additional mineralization in parallel vein structures nearby.

The Company's strong infrastructure in the area, and solid ties to local prospectors have aided in this acquisition and also identified other high priority targets for further acquisition and exploration.

The Jaripo Property is located in the same region as the Company's 100% owned La Cumbre Project and the Company's recently announced El Carmen Mine and other Mexican properties. The management believes this new property and some further additions in the pipeline, will enable the company to realize its plan to become a regional developer and operator of silver mines.
