SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA--(Marketwired - April 4, 2016) -

Highlights

  • Simavita and PointClickCare have agreed to develop the interoperability between Simavita's SIM™ with the PointClickCare Electronic Health Record (EHR) platform.
  • PointClickCare is the leading cloud-based software provider for the long-term post-acute care (LTPAC) market. Over 12,000 skilled nursing facilities and senior living communities use PointClickCare today.
  • Interoperability is expected to deliver time efficiencies for clinicians to eliminate double handling of records and a streamlined customer experience.
  • The interoperability solution will also allow for better compliance with the required Minimum Data Set (MDS) guidelines that govern the aged care industry in North America by automating the completion of a regulatory check list when the assessment is completed

Simavita Limited ("Simavita" or the "Company") (TSX VENTURE:SV)(ASX:SVA), a global leader in the digital healthcare sector, announced an agreement with PointClickCare, the leading cloud-based software platform for the senior care continuum, for system interoperability between Simavita's Smart Incontinence Management (SIM™) and PointClickCare's electronic health record (EHR) platform.

Simavita and PointClickCare will collaborate to jointly develop a solution to provide interoperability between Simavita's SIM™ solution and the PointClickCare EHR platform. The parties will also work together to deploy the integrated solution and their respective technologies to the aged care sector in North America.

Once complete, the integrated solution will enable long-term care organizations that currently use the PointClickCare EHR platform to seamlessly integrate the instrumented 72-hour continence assessment information collected by Simavita's SIM™ technology into their overall healthcare system. Similarly, full system interoperability will allow SIM™ to draw on data held in the PointClickCare EHR system and provide time efficiencies for carers, eliminate double handling of records, remove the risk of inaccuracies and result in a streamlined customer experience.

The use of EHR solutions by senior care providers, such as the one offered by PointClickCare, is mandated in the United States. The ability of SIM™ to seamlessly integrate with such systems represents a major opportunity to gain widespread acceptance of its technology in that market.

CEO of Simavita, Ms Philippa Lewis commented, "We are delighted to be partnering with PointClickCare, the industry leading cloud-based software provider for the LTPAC market in North America. The PointClickCare platform is known for its design interoperability allowing integration of unique third party solution providers such as Simavita's SIM™. Our customers will be thrilled about this innovation."

"This integration with PointClickCare will not only open the way for us to further access the burgeoning North American market, but will also allow PointClickCare to extend the benefits of SIM™ to its existing, and future customers. PointClickCare's customers wishing to use SIM™ will be able to seamlessly draw on their EHR data already held in PointClickCare's interoperable system, allowing for an improved user experience."
