Simon Fuller on the Walk Of Fame

HOLLYWOOD, CALIFORNIA--(Marketwire - May 24, 2011) -"American Idol" creator Simon Fuller received the 2,441st star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame today, honoring a 30-year career that includes managing the careers of sports stars David Beckham, Lewis Hamilton and Andy Murray, as well as the most successful girl group of all time, the Spice Girls.

Despite being the brains behind many of the most successful careers in entertainment, Fuller rarely steps in front of the camera, and has famously never given a TV or a radio interview.

But today Simon Fuller became only the 97th British born individual to have a Star on the Walk Of Fame on Hollywood Boulevard joining a diverse but elite list of Brits that include The Beatles, David Bowie, Alfred Hitchcock and Charlie Chaplin.

Simon Fuller was joined at the ceremony today by Ryan Seacrest, Victoria Beckham (and her son Brooklyn), Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony, country singer Carrie Underwood, Randy Jackson, Nigel Lythgoe, British Consul General the United States Dame Barbara Hays, and the stars of the current season of American Idol.

In his speech Simon Fuller thanked many of the people who had helped him create 'the biggest TV show in the world' including the show's former judge Simon Cowell. Last week over 95 million votes were cast for American Idol, and it has defied the critics' predications to remain the No.1 TV show on America TV with audiences of over 25 million viewers each week.
