Simulmedia Hires Jack Smith as Chief Product Officer

Digital Ad Tech Veteran Joins TV Ad Targeting Start-Up

NEW YORK, NY--(Marketwire - January 13, 2011) - Simulmedia, a targeted advertising television company, today announced that it has hired Jack Smith for the newly-created position of Chief Product Officer, reporting to Alison Lowery, Simulmedia's CTO.

Mr. Smith will help Simulmedia scale its TV ad targeting platform, which combines traditional television audience research data with licensed anonymous viewing data from more than 15 million US set-top boxes. This 75+ terabyte database is the foundation for Simulmedia's patent-pending predictive targeting technology.

Mr. Smith comes to Simulmedia from Solariat (San Francisco) where he was a founder of this artificial intelligence based, social media advertising startup. For two years before that, he was Founder and General Manager of The Media Innovation Group (MIG) (New York), a WPP company that developed vision, concepts and business plans for new business lines across WPP owned agencies including a large scale media trading platform. For a decade, Mr. Smith was with 24/7 Real Media, Inc (New York) first as Vice President, Product Management, then later as Senior Vice President, Product Strategy.

Earlier in his career Mr. Smith worked in Milwaukee as Network Analyst, Corporate Network Engineering for Manpower International; Partner/Founder of Fearless Media, a digital media consulting and design firm; and as Director of Operations/Director of Programming for Hearst Broadcasting's WLTQ-FM and WISN-AM.
