"Sing Your Heart(burn) Out" for a Chance to Be the TUMS Fast Relief 500 Grand Marshal

Lead 60,000 Fans in Singing the TUMS Jingle at Martinsville Speedway

CHARLOTTE, NC--(Marketwire - Jul 5, 2011) - TUMS, America's number one antacid, today announced the launch of the consumer-friendly promotion -- "Sing Your Heart(burn) Out" contest -- which will challenge the nation to perform and submit its best video version of the TUMS jingle. Consumers, fans and singers are invited to "Sing Your Heart(burn) Out" for a chance to be the grand marshal at the TUMS Fast Relief 500 on Oct. 30 at Martinsville Speedway.

"We are excited to offer our loyal fans and TUMS users the opportunity to "Sing Your Heart(burn) Out" for a chance to serve as the grand marshal, a spot typically reserved for executives and celebrities," said Ken Christensen, senior brand manager for TUMS. "The TUMS Fast Relief 500 is a great way to thank our consumers for their continued support and showcase the speed of TUMS while providing one talented fan a once-in-a-lifetime experience."

Contestants have the opportunity to perform and submit the best "TUMS, Ta, Ta, Ta, TUMS" jingle. Each submission will be judged on one-third creativity, one-third originality and one-third relevance to the theme. The winning participant will:

  • Serve as the grand marshal at the TUMS Fast Relief 500 at Martinsville Speedway on Oct. 30, 2011. The grand marshal will give the most famous words in racing "Gentlemen, Start Your Engines."
  • Lead a crowd of more than 60,000 people in singing the TUMS jingle at Martinsville Speedway.
  • Receive a VIP experience including roundtrip air fare, three nights' accommodation, food and beverage for up to $5,000 and transportation to and from all TUMS Fast Relief 500 activities.
  • Access for two to the TUMS suite for the TUMS Fast Relief 500.

The "Sing Your Heart(burn) Out" contest will begin Tuesday, July 5 with the first phase of the contest concluding on Sunday, July 31. Video entries will be accepted online on the "Sing Your Heart(burn) Out" tab at www.facebook.com/TUMS.

By Aug. 14, the top-10 finalists will be selected by a third party and proceed into a voting contest that will allow fans of the TUMS' Facebook page to narrow the selection to the ultimate winner of the "Sing Your Heart(burn) Out" Contest. The voting period concludes on Thursday, Sept. 15.
