SINGAPORE--(Marketwire - Feb 8, 2012) - The Singapore Marriott Hotel's Marriott Cafe, most famous for its extensive buffet offerings, has reopened following a 3-month long refurbishment with an open kitchen, and multiple live cooking stations allowing chefs to prepare all orders à la minute upon request.
Unrecognizable from its former self, the Singapore luxury hotel's new look cafe is the work of architectural design firm, Hirsh Bedner Associates (HBA) and brings with it a fresh and contemporary new look with clean lines and use of light stone and wood.
Led by newly appointed Executive Chef, Kevin Thomson, Marriott Cafe continues to specialize in buffet fare but champions a new "Freshness Redefined" concept whereby 10 professional chefs take centre stage at one of Singapore's largest open kitchen blocks to serve up a highly curated menu of quality dishes from the East and West.
Featuring a large salad bar set against a green wall creatively decorated with live plants, customers can now make their favourite salad from over 15 varieties of salad leaf market style, with over 20 condiments to accompany.
With a number of premium imported meats and product, the upgraded buffet offers slow roasted Prime Ribs and other roasted meats cooked to perfection at the Beech Oven section; authentic Tianjin delicacies including live pulled noodles and piping hot dim sum; an extensive grill and renowned local dishes such as Chili Crab and Cereal Prawns alongside a large selection of oysters, snow crabs, crayfish and prawns at the Seafood Station.
Boston Lobsters, King Crab Legs and Whole Baked Fish are available during the Singapore restaurant's dinner buffet on Thursdays and Fridays, at lunch and dinner on Saturdays and lunch on Sundays.
General Manager of Singapore Marriott Hotel, Mr. Antony Page, said, "At the new Marriott Cafe, we are not only offering top quality buffet fare but reinforcing the importance of freshness and nutrition in food. From selecting the ingredients, to preparing the food, we will only serve hot and fresh for the next customer in line."
Marriott Cafe is open for from 6am to 10pm 7-days a week with seating for 164 pax. In addition to its buffet fare, a small a la carte menu is available.
With the reopening of Marriott Cafe, the recent unveiling of Crossroads Cafe and the new hotel lobby, the Singapore 5 star hotel is well on its way to completing its S$32 million dollar renovation.
The second phase of the renovation is currently in progress and consists of a major overhaul of almost all guest rooms. The entire project is expected to be complete by April 2012 and has been funded by owning company, Tang Holdings.
