Singer/Songwriter Melanie Dekker Launches Her New CD at TroopFest 2006 Aboard the USS Hornet

Proceeds From Her New CD Sales to Benefit Wounded Soldiers and Their Families

SONOMA COUNTY, CA -- (MARKET WIRE) -- September 21, 2006 -- Sonoma Mountain Entertainment artist Melanie Dekker is launching her new CD titled "Revealed" in the U.S. aboard the USS Hornet during this year's TroopFest held in Alameda, California on September 30. Melanie will be on the roster with an impressive list of recording artists who will perform on the aircraft carrier museum hangar deck for 3,000 servicemen, their families and the public who are expected to attend the five-hour benefit concert and festival sponsored by the American Red Cross, Operation: Care and Comfort, which raises funds to send care packages to U.S. Troops abroad.

Melanie Dekker, a Canadian singer/songwriter and international performer, worked with world-renowned producer David Kershenbaum to produce "Revealed," that will officially be released September 29, on Zabit Records, a division of Sonoma Mountain Entertainment.

A single on the album, titled "Fall in/Wounded Soldier," was written by Melanie on her self-sponsored trip from Vancouver, Canada to the Hamptons in New York where she played at a benefit for The National Wounded Soldier Foundation. And to further support the cause that inspired the song, Melanie Dekker with her label, Zabit Records, have pledged $1 for each copy of "Revealed" sold exclusively through CDBaby.com for the first one million records sold. Proceeds will go to selected foundations to benefit wounded soldiers and their families.

CD Baby, an international record distributor headquartered in Portland, Oregon, through President and Founder Derek Sivers, is also matching $1 for a total of $2 million pledged to the cause. To purchase "Revealed," go to www.cdbaby.com/cd/dekker2

"The song 'Wounded Soldier' -- she nailed it! We listen to thousands of stories from the soldiers and the wives she is singing about. And the stories they tell are exactly what this song is all about. I am truly amazed," comments Michael J. Wagner, Ph.D., retired Colonel USAR and the executive director of the Military, Veteran and Family Assistance Foundation.

"The wounded soldier in my song represents more than the physically wounded. It's also for those emotionally and psychologically wounded. It's about the wound you carry in your heart for your loved ones left behind. It's really a love song," says songwriter Melanie Dekker.

The willowy blonde Ms. Dekker, who hails from Vancouver, BC, has performed throughout Canada, the U.S. and Europe appearing with such notable artists as Diana Krall, Chaka Kahn, Bryan Adams, Faith Hill, Ivan Neville and the Neville All Star Band, Shari Ulrich, April Wine among others.

The legendary David Kershenbaum, who has produced such notable artists as Tracy Chapman, Joe Jackson, Duran Duran, The Jacksons and Tori Amos, co-produced the "Revealed" CD with producer/engineer Scott Church and Bill Zabit of Sonoma Mountain Entertainment.

"Revealed" was recorded and mixed at Sonoma Mountain Studio Estate (www.studioestate.com) in Sonoma County, California, with international composer, arranger and multi-instrumentalist Jason Nett of Vancouver, BC, playing a key role in the recording.
