Singing Santa Animated App for iPad, iPhone & iPod touch Transforms Speech Into Holiday-Themed Song and Dance

Khush Introduces Awesome New Way to Send Holiday Greetings

ATLANTA, GA--(Marketwire - Dec 8, 2011) - Khush, the music creation company behind iOS app sensations LaDiDa, Songify and Talkapella, today announced its new Singing Santa App for iPhone and iPod touch is now available on the App Store. Singing Santa magically transforms speech into holiday-themed singing and dancing, and features an animated Santa with killer dance moves. Users can create custom messages to holiday tunes, then send postcard greetings of their creations to friends and family via Facebook, Twitter, and email.

Singing Santa is Khush's first animated character app, combining its advanced artificial intelligence technology with a singing, dancing Santa ready to belt out customized messages set to your favorite holiday tunes. Singing Santa comes with two holiday songs and a handful of dance moves, with many more available through In-App Purchase. Singing Santa is also available for $4.99 as an HD app for iPad with all dance moves and holiday songs unlocked, and more postcards available.

"We've had massive demand from our users for an app that blended our easy music creation technology with an animated character -- Santa felt like the perfect fit to bring it all together, and he has some really great dance moves," said Prerna Gupta, founder and CEO, Khush. "We've had the itch to do a character app for a while now, and to do something really kid-friendly. Singing Santa is a fun, cool way to get into the holiday spirit, and we're thrilled to bring him to market in time for the holiday season this year."

Last week Khush announced its acquisition by Smule, the creators of top-ranking social music making apps including Magic Piano™, Ocarina, I am™ T-Pain, Glee Karaoke, and MadPad™. Smule and Khush are innovators in the rapidly growing market for mobile entertainment, and combined have experienced more than 500% user growth over the past 12 months. Together, the companies' customers have downloaded nearly 30 million apps and created more than 350 million songs.

Khush is a spin-off from Georgia Tech, based on a "reverse karaoke" technology developed by co-founder Parag Chordia. Chordia and co-founders Gupta and Alex Rae commercialized the technology and formed Khush. Parag remains a professor at Georgia Tech, and is the head of the university's Music Intelligence Lab.
