Sino Commences Drilling Eagle Discovery

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(CCNMatthews - Oct. 7, 2005) - Sino Pacific Development Ltd. (TSX VENTURE:SPV) -

Mr. Allan Frew reports:

Sino Pacific Development Ltd. wishes to advise that they have commenced to drill the Eagle Showing on the company's Burtons Pond Property, Nipper's Harbour area, eastern Baie Verte Peninsula, Newfoundland.

The Eagle Showing, which was discovered by Project Geologist Wilson Jacobs, B.Sc., P.Geo., is located 3 km. NNE from the Burtons Pond Au, Cu Prospect and is comprised of a gossanous fracture zone hosting pyrite with traces of sphalerite, chalcopyrite and galena. A representative grab sample of the gossan returned assay results of 0.33% Pb, 0.44% Zn, 6.16 g/t Ag and 275 ppb Au. Hand-trenching exposed an area 3.0 metres wide by 4.0 metres long and indicated that the mineralization consists of up to 10% pyrite with traces of chalcopyrite and galena. Channel samples across 3.0 metre widths from the north and south ends (4.0 metres apart) returned the following results:

----------------------------------------------------------------
Sample No. Au (ppb) Cu (ppm) Zn (ppm) Pb (ppm) Ag (g/t)
----------------------------------------------------------------
69523 51 77 1064 1887 2.8
----------------------------------------------------------------
69524 28 42 433 1005 1.2
----------------------------------------------------------------

The following table summarizes the values returned from soil samples taken in the area extending 340 metres NNE and 75 metres SSW of the Eagle Showing:

---------------------------------------------------------
# Anomalous Lowest Highest Other
Element samples Value Value Anomalies
---------------------------------------------------------
Pb 20 12 ppm 3800 ppm 6 over 200 ppm
---------------------------------------------------------
Zn 20 139 ppm 1700 ppm 5 over 500 ppm
---------------------------------------------------------
Ag 6 0.3 g/t 9.25 g/t 3 over 1.0 g/t
---------------------------------------------------------
Au 1 106 ppb 106 ppb -
---------------------------------------------------------

The anomalous base metal values in these soil samples suggest that there may be a buried source of these metals in higher concentrations within the underlying pillowed (?) mafic volcanic rocks. The immediate area shows a strong structural fabric, which could provide the conduit for polymetallic mineralizing fluid, which could then be deposited within structural traps in the "prepared" hostrock which continues to the west under overlying, impervious quartz-feldspar porphyry.

An Induced Polarization Geophysical Survey was carried out over the immediate area of the Eagle Showing by Eastern Geophysics Ltd., of Corner Brook, Newfoundland. The data from this survey was turned over to International Consulting Geophysicist Garth Burton, of Toronto, Ontario for analysis and interpretation. Mr Burton defined several anomalies, ranging from strong to weak, underlying, and flanking to the west as well as paralleling the showing. On Mr. Burton's recommendation the first diamond drill hole being drilled is intended to intersect a strong anomaly which underlies the showing. Additional holes will be contingent upon the results.

The company is in the wind-down stage of the current Phase of exploration of its highly prospective Burtons Pond Property. The diamond drilling portion of the program has resulted in encouraging results which will be fully understood, appreciated and reported on when all core is processed (logged and analyzed) which is expected to be complete early next week.

A strict, secure chain of custody is being implemented with respect to the collecting, handling, and sampling of the drill-core from drill-site to laboratory. A quality control and quality analyses program utilizing standards, blanks, and duplicates is being followed. Analyses is being performed by Eastern Analytical Ltd. of Springdale, Newfoundland and selected duplicate samples are being processed by Loring Laboratories Ltd., of Calgary, Alberta, both companies being highly accredited and recognized within the industry for their caliber of work.

All field work and core logging is being carried out by Project Geologist Wilson Jacobs, B.Sc., P.Geo., and the project is being managed by Allan M. Frew, B.Sc., P.Geo., both of whom are qualified persons under National Instrument 43-101 guidelines. Allan Frew prepared this press release.

ON BEHALF OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS:

Allan M. Frew, President
