Strand board sales dropped in excess of 30 percent and the company's overall revenue declined nearly 20 percent during the quarter. In recent news, the Chinese forestry operator Sino-Forest said it will take until the end of the year to complete an independent probe into the allegations accused by short-seller Carson Block. Meanwhile, the Ontario Securities Commission recently demanded Sino Chief Executive Allen Chan and other officers resign immediately. The commission later rescinded that order, saying it lacked the power to force them to step down until after a hearing, expected within 15 days.
