Sino Pacific Development Ltd.: Burtons Pond Exploration Update

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(CCNMatthews - Sept. 1, 2005) -

Mr. Allan Frew reports:

Sino Pacific Development Ltd. (TSX VENTURE:SPV) is pleased to provide a progress report on its first phase of exploration on the Burtons Pond Property, Baie Verte Peninsula, Newfoundland.

Confirmation exploration work has been carried out on the copper-gold mineralization at the Burton's Pond prospect, which is the main focus of the company's exploration efforts on the property. Diamond drilling testing of this Cu-Au target is scheduled for early September.

In addition, property wide reconnaissance prospecting and sampling had made new discoveries which show potential for polymetallic base metal mineralization:

- A 700 metre long copper/zinc geochemical soil anomaly along the trace of the Stocking Harbour Fault on the west side of Burtons Pond and extending to approximately 250 metres south of the pond which had a number of isolated anomalous gold values; (and was the area of historic Pre 43-101 panned concentrate which assayed 19.7 g/t Au.);

- A lead/zinc geochemical soil anomaly north of Burtons Pond and extending for approximately 450 metres. A number of samples also contained anomalous Au and Ag values; and

- A similar lead/zinc soil anomaly is located 75 metres north of the Axe Pond showing (a massive sulfide occurrence which has returned high assays in copper, lead, zinc, gold and silver) and continues for at least 275 metres containing a number of anomalous gold and silver values.

All of these base metal soil anomalies are located along the trace of the Stocking Harbour fault and we believe they could indicate massive-sulfide type mineralization at depth. These new discoveries are distinct from the historic Burtons Pond Cu-Ag prospect which the Company will be diamond drilling in early September.

The company is also awaiting the final report of IP geophysical surveys which have been carried out on selected areas of the property by an independent geophysical contractor.

The company is very encouraged by these preliminary results and look forward to results from the property.

Allan M. Frew, B. Sc., P. Geo. a director of the Company, is the qualified person as specified by 43-101 guidelines and has been responsible for the preparation of this press release with the able assistance of Project Geologist Wilson Jacobs, B. Sc.
