Sionix Announces Continuation Patent Granted

Intellectual Property Portfolio Broadened for Customized Application of Proprietary DAF Technology

LOS ANGELES, CA--(Marketwire - Aug 4, 2011) - Sionix Corporation (OTCBB: SINX), designer of innovative and patented advanced mobile water treatment systems (MWTS), today announced that the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office has granted Sionix 7,981,287 patent, a continuation patent of its prior patents 7,767,080 and 7,033,495. This continuation patent expands the coverage of the prior patents by granting Sionix additional protection for modifications, additions and improvements within the container housing its proprietary Dissolved Air Flotation (DAF) technology.

"The barrier to entry has been set higher by the granting of this continuation patent," said James R. Currier, Chairman and CEO of Sionix. "As many applications for our MWTS are customized in some way, the additional patent protection for modifications and additions within the container housing is important. We intend to continue to work to enlarge our current patent and intellectual property portfolio related to our proprietary DAF technology."

Sionix currently has four patents issued on its DAF technology, and one provisional patent on file for its Evaporator Technology. Three additional patent applications are on file, all relating to further advances of the Sionix proprietary bubble generation process.

About Sionix Corporation
Based in Los Angeles, CA, Sionix designs innovative and advanced water treatment systems intended for use in energy, government facilities, healthcare facilities, emergency water supplies during natural disasters, housing development projects, and various industrial processes including subterranean fracturing used in oil and gas drilling. These systems are located adjacent to contaminated water sites thus reducing cost and toxic exposure and can be used to remove organic materials including oil, waste and other infectious bacteria from contaminated resources. They can be also used as pre-treatment for reverse osmosis and other membrane applications. Industries involved in dairy, agribusiness, meat processing, mining, poultry operations, and many others can benefit from Sionix' cost-effective, easily maintained, portable water treatment systems. About Sionix Technology
Using a patented dissolved air flotation (DAF) technology packaged in a mobile shipping container, air bubbles between the size of 1 and 2 microns are injected and float organic contaminants to the surface where 99.95% are skimmed off, and a majority of inorganic contaminants are also captured and removed. This compares to standard DAF units which historically have been limited to using bubble sizes of 50 microns or larger. The size of these bubbles is important because the smaller the bubble, the greater the surface tension. They can then hold together longer and elevate more organic contaminants to the surface for removal.
