Sionix Announces Filing of U.S. Patent Applications

Additions to Intellectual Property Portfolio Broaden Protection of Bubble Generation Process

SANTA MONICA, CA--(Marketwire - February 22, 2011) - Sionix Corporation (OTCBB: SINX) ("Sionix"), designer of innovative and patented, advanced mobile water treatment systems, is pleased to announce that it filed three separate patent applications recently with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office relating to the generation, separation, and certain functional characteristics of its proprietary bubbling process, including nozzle design, clean-out, and throttling flow rates that Sionix believes are exclusive and unique to Sionix. Sionix believes that its proprietary rights in the perfection of these processes, their functional design, and their efficiency of application provide substantial protection of Sionix' expanding intellectual property and enlarge its current patent and intellectual property portfolio related to Dissolved Air Flotation (DAF) technology.

With this expansion of its intellectual property portfolio, market sectors that were previously outside its capacity or technical capability become new market opportunities. In addition, Sionix believes that these new patent applications, if allowed, will provide a formidable "barrier to entry" into coveted market sectors, particularly where co-location with contamination sources, treatment modularity, and mobility are critical components of any new water treatment system under consideration.

The Company notes, in particular, that with the increasing capability of testing and measurement instrumentation which promote the migration of standards from parts per million (ppm) conventions to parts per billion (ppb), the Sionix Mobile Water Treatment System (MWTS), with its perfection of bubble generating processes, treatment of contamination subject to these stricter measurement standards is well within our capability. As these standards constantly update with measurement and testing technologies, treatment requirements compliant with evolving micro-measurement standards will be imposed by various regulatory agencies, both federal and state. As Sionix perfects both its proprietary DAF and bubble generation technologies on a course parallel with regulatory standards, Sionix believes its MWTS will be positioned to capture greater share of existing markets and penetrate evolving markets.

Docket numbers for these applications are 213-242, 213-321 and 213-332. They will appear on the Sionix and USPTO websites shortly. To date, Sionix has nine patents issued and three patent applications on file.

About Sionix Corporation
Based in Santa Monica, CA, Sionix designs innovative and advanced water treatment systems intended for use in defense, government facilities, emergency water supplies during natural disasters, housing development projects, and various industrial processes including subterranean fracturing used in oil and gas drilling. These systems are located adjacent to contaminated water sites thus reducing cost and toxic exposure and can be used to remove organic materials including oil, waste and other infectious bacteria from contaminated resources. They can be also used as pre-treatment for reverse osmosis and other membrane applications. Industries involved in dairy, agribusiness, meat processing, mining, poultry operations, and many others can benefit from Sionix' cost-effective, easily maintained, portable water treatment systems. For more information about the Company, go to www.sionix.com.

About Sionix Technology
Using a patented dissolved air flotation (DAF) technology packaged in a mobile shipping container, micron sized air bubbles are injected and float organic contaminants to the surface where 99.95% are skimmed off. This compares to standard DAF units which historically have been limited to using bubble sizes of 50 microns or larger. The size of these bubbles are important because the smaller the bubble, the greater the surface tension and the greater the electrical charge. They can then hold together longer and elevate more organic contaminants to the surface for removal.
