Sionix Corporation Announces Testing Plans for Its Mobile Water Treatment Systems

LOS ANGELES, CA--(Marketwire - May 19, 2011) - Sionix Corporation (OTCBB: SINX), designer of innovative and patented advanced mobile water treatment systems, today announced testing plans for Sionix' Mobile Water Treatment Systems (MWTS).

During the next two weeks Mark Hayes, Chief Science Officer of Sionix, and Chuck Oborn, Chief Engineer of Sionix, have planned to test each component of the MWTS individually to assure proper pressures, flows and volumes. Sionix recently re-conditioned a MWTS previously constructed and will use this unit for the tests. The MWTS (meaning Sionix dissolved air floatation (DAF) technology, and other treatment components needed to accomplish the testing) will be assembled for a comprehensive battery of wet tests, which is expected to demonstrate the MWTS' ability to remove a variety of contaminants including non-radioactive isotopes of Lead (Pb), Iodine (I), and Cesium (Ce). These contaminants are of similar atomic weight and structure as the radioactive isotopes Sionix is expecting to remove in Japan. These three elements have been identified by Japanese authorities as the predominant radionuclides present in some of their drinking water sources. This surrogate testing should replace the acceptance testing that Sionix would be expected to undergo upon delivery, and is expected to facilitate the speedy deployment of the MWTS to intended destinations.

In anticipation of increased sales efforts by Sionix, especially in the Marcellus Shale regions in New York and Pennsylvania, these tests are designed to demonstrate and document the capability and efficacy of the Sionix MWTS product and the underlying DAF technology. Sionix believes that this testing is particularly relevant to the treatment of naturally occurring radioactive material (NORM) that is prevalent in the waste water of gas and oil drilling and production operations and which municipal regulatory authorities are beginning to more strictly regulate.

Sionix expects to have completed the testing by the first week of June. The tests are planned to be attended by potential customers, partners and investors, and will be certified by an independent testing lab. Once completed Sionix anticipates making the results available in a variety of uses for sales, marketing and in new product development.

Using a patented dissolved air flotation (DAF) technology packaged in a mobile shipping container, air bubbles between the size of 1 and 2 microns are injected and float organic contaminants to the surface where 99.95% are skimmed off, and a majority of inorganic contaminants are also captured and removed.
