Sionix Corporation Reports Successful Testing Results

Data Proves Efficacy for Treatment of Frac Water and Removal of Surrogate Radioactive Contaminants

LOS ANGELES, CA--(Marketwire - Jun 22, 2011) - Sionix Corporation (OTCBB: SINX) ("Sionix"), designer of innovative and patented advanced mobile water treatment systems, today reported successful independent third-party testing results for its Mobile Water Treatment System (MWTS). The Sionix MWTS removed contaminants of the same, or substantially similar, atomic weight and structure as the radioactive isotopes of those same elements currently found in Japan's water supply, contaminants in produced and frac water faced by oil and gas drillers, and contaminants in wastewater and runoff resulting from agricultural activity.

James R. Currier, CEO of Sionix, commented, "We believe these results show the capacity of Sionix to provide comprehensive water treatment solutions to equally comprehensive water contamination problems. These tests prove that the Sionix MWTS can efficiently treat large volumes of water (approximately 400,000 gallons per day on the standard MWTS), on a continuous basis and that the MWTS can be adapted to remove a variety of contaminants.

"We believe these results verify and validate claims that we have been making about the efficacy of our MWTS product and the underlying proprietary and patented Dissolved Air Flotation (DAF) technology. Specifically, these test results address surrogate radionuclide and biological contamination that characterize water in disaster/emergency relief situations (like Japan, Haiti, Katrina, and other natural or man-made disasters); surrogate radionuclide contaminants and hydrocarbons that characterize water in oil and gas drilling applications; and, biological contaminants that impact the healthcare and agricultural industries, all of which are markets that Sionix deems of extreme interest."

Currier went on to say, "We continue to work diligently to achieve deployment of our MWTS in Japan. We believe the success of our testing supports the claim that the Sionix MWTS can treat water contaminated with radioactive particles, human and animal waste, and the bacterial and viral contaminants that result from the destruction of infrastructure. Negotiations remain ongoing with TII and its affiliate SAPO International with respect to various operational aspects of our outstanding MOU."

Testing was conducted, and reports were prepared by Edge Analytical, Inc., an accredited, independent testing laboratory based in Burlington, WA. Reports were prepared in accordance with accepted laboratory testing standards.

In a separate announcement, Sionix has leased a facility for the fabrication and assembly of its MWTS near Seattle, WA on a month-to-month basis. This location was chosen because of its proximity to major ports, rail, trucking, and air transport. Also, the presence of a large aerospace manufacturer as well as two of the largest naval facilities on the West Coast and the developers of the computing technology used by many PLC vendors provides Sionix with access to highly qualified professionals and suppliers. With adequate capital Sionix anticipates the capacity to fabricate and assemble approximately 50 MWTS per year from this facility.

Sionix will post to its website, www.sionix.com, a comprehensive explanation of the methodology and procedures used in the recent testing of the MWTS and its relevance to the various market opportunities Sionix is pursuing. As well, Sionix has provided additional technical and procedural information below.

Testing Procedures and Protocols

An accredited, third party laboratory, Edge Analytical, Inc., based in Burlington, WA, was retained to test Sionix treatment of surrogate non-radioactive isotopes of Lead (Pb), Cesium (Cs), and Iodine (I) with the same, or substantially similar, atomic weight and structure as the radioactive isotopes of those same elements which have been reported by various Japanese news sources, both in fresh water and brackish water (with TDS levels < 1500 mg/l). Edge Analytical also tested certain hydrocarbons and biological contaminants in the residual brackish water. A summary of the results of the testing are presented in the table below, as well as management's explanation of the treatment standards, testing protocols and results. The certified results from Edge Analytical and a comprehensive discussion of the entire treatment and testing process will be posted on the Sionix website in the near future.

Under the treatment process, the Sionix MWTS was configured to include pre-filtration in front of Sionix' DAF, multi-media filtration and reverse osmosis behind the DAF. Those tested contaminants that were suspended in water (hydrocarbons, biological and Iodine) were remediated in pre-filtration, DAF and filter components and those that were dissolved in water (brine, Lead, and Cesium) were remediated in the reverse osmosis component of the MWTS. With nominal modifications in current configuration, the tested MWTS is being considered for applications in oil and gas drilling, bio-solids, coal mining, and disaster relief. These modifications are exclusive of the underlying DAF technology and apply only to certain third party components that are integral to site specific applications of the MWTS.

About Sionix Corporation
Based in Los Angeles, CA, Sionix designs innovative and advanced water treatment systems intended for use in energy, government facilities, healthcare facilities, emergency water supplies during natural disasters, housing development projects, and various industrial processes including subterranean fracturing used in oil and gas drilling. These systems are located adjacent to contaminated water sites thus reducing cost and toxic exposure and can be used to remove organic materials including oil, waste and other infectious bacteria from contaminated resources. They can be also used as pre-treatment for reverse osmosis and other membrane applications. Industries involved in dairy, agribusiness, meat processing, mining, poultry operations, and many others can benefit from Sionix' cost-effective, easily maintained, portable water treatment systems. About Sionix Technology
Using a patented dissolved air flotation (DAF) technology packaged in a mobile shipping container, air bubbles between the size of 1 and 2 microns are injected and float organic contaminants to the surface where 99.95% are skimmed off, and a majority of inorganic contaminants are also captured and removed. This compares to standard DAF units which historically have been limited to using bubble sizes of 50 microns or larger. The size of these bubbles is important because the smaller the bubble, the greater the surface tension. They can then hold together longer and elevate more organic contaminants to the surface for removal.
