SITA Integrates Siebel CRM Systems With New Enterprise Mashup Approach

Leading Airline IT Provider Builds New Portal With Kapow Technologies -- Integrates Many Systems in Record Time

LONDON -- (MARKET WIRE) -- May 2, 2007 -- InternetWorld -- Kapow Technologies today announced that Switzerland-based SITA, the world's leading service provider of IT business solutions and communications services to the air transport industry, has deployed the Kapow Mashup Server to integrate various applications including Siebel CRM solutions into a single portal. By utilizing Kapow Technologies' unique Visual Scripting approach, the company was able to build enterprise mashups at a fraction of the time and cost it would have required using traditional integration methods.

The portal integration project arose when SITA decided to merge its IT and Communications divisions out of a need to centralize access and communication point for SITA's customers. To provide SITA's customers a one-stop service experience with single sign-on capability, two existing Siebel CRM applications had to be combined, in addition to integrating data from other enterprise applications. The challenge for SITA turned out to be the same problem experienced by most IT professionals creating portals today -- how do you expose the applications within the portal, without needing to rewrite all the applications from scratch?

First Stop, Portal Integration -- Next Stop, More Mashup Projects

"Until we discovered the Kapow Mashup Server, we were concerned that the costs and time required to complete the project using traditional integration methods would be too prohibitive for us to complete the project," said Stephane Scherrer, CRM & Portal IS Director at SITA. "But with Kapow Technologies' unique enterprise mashup approach, integration tasks that would have taken days were completed in minutes, purely through visual point-and-click techniques. With this project now complete, we are now considering many other enterprise integration projects where we can leverage the Kapow Mashup Server."

Long before "mashup" was used as a Web term, Kapow Technologies had been providing its Global 2000 customers with enterprise-class technology that uses a unique and flexible Web-based approach to building composite services and applications. Any application component with a web interface can be quickly and easily re-purposed using the Kapow Mashup Server, including Web-based content, data or business logic. Because of this unique approach, enterprise customers are deploying mission-critical portals, integrating existing applications, and creating a new class of composite applications on budgets and timeframes that were once unthinkable. The Kapow Mashup Server is a Java™-based solution that supports all leading operating systems, databases, and key Internet and Web 2.0 protocols.
