SIU Appeal for Witnesses

MISSISSAUGA, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Oct. 3, 2011) - On October 1, 2011, at approximately 2:55 PM an Ontario Provincial Police cruiser was involved in a motor vehicle collision in the intersection of Glanworth Drive and Colonel Talbot Road in the City of London. Two occupants of the civilian vehicle were taken to hospital as well as two OPP officers.

The SIU is appealing for anyone who may have witnessed and/or photographed this incident, or who has any information in relation to the incident, to contact the SIU at (416) 622-2314, or 1-800-787-8529, extension 2314.

The SIU is a civilian law enforcement agency that investigates circumstances involving police and civilians which have resulted in serious injury, sexual assault or death. Under Part VII, Section 113, of the Police Services Act, the Director of the SIU has the sole authority to decide whether or not charges are warranted based on the findings of a complete investigation. The Director's decision is reported to the Attorney General.
