Six Apart Frees Photobloggers on TypePad, Movable Type, and Vox

Eye-Fi Allows Six Apart Bloggers to Send Photos Wirelessly to Their Blog With the Eye-Fi Card

SAN FRANCISCO, CA--(Marketwire - March 5, 2008) - Six Apart, the world's leading blogging software and services company, and Eye-Fi, makers of the first wireless memory card for digital cameras, announced today that bloggers who use one of Six Apart's blogging platforms -- including Movable Type, TypePad and Vox -- can now upload photos directly from their digital camera to their blog using the Eye-Fi Card.

Beginning today, the Eye-Fi Card lets bloggers send photos directly and automatically to their Movable Type, TypePad or Vox blog from the SD digital camera they already own, using their Wi-Fi network.

The Eye-Fi Card includes 2 GB of memory to store photos, and its built-in wireless technology allows users to send photos directly to the user's computer and to one of Six Apart's blogging platforms. The Eye-Fi Service handles logins and passwords automatically, in a secure and private environment.

"Bloggers expect to share content in real-time, so they will appreciate the instant uploads that Eye-Fi allows," said Ziv Gillat, Eye-Fi's vice president of business development. "We're eliminating the hassle and allowing users to do more with their photos."

Photobloggers on Movable Type, TypePad and Vox can easily upload images directly to their blogs via their Wi-Fi network, even when their computer is turned off. The Eye-Fi Card also supports more than 20 other photo sharing and printing sites such as Shutterfly, Kodak Gallery, Facebook and Photobucket.

"Our bloggers are always looking for easier ways to share their photos and memories on their blogs. We're excited to work with Eye-Fi to allow users to post photos where they want -- directly from their digital camera," said Michael Sippey, vice president of products at Six Apart. "TypePad, Vox and Movable Type have empowered users with the freedom of mobile photo posting for years. We're the only blog platform in the industry with dedicated mobile blogging applications for Symbian Series 60, Windows Mobile, and Palm, and a rich experience specific to iPhone users. The addition of Eye-Fi adds another powerful way for bloggers to share photos effortlessly."

The Eye-Fi Card is available at major retailers, including Amazon.com, Costco.com, Buy.com, and Ritz Camera Centers. Those wanting to test the card's connectivity with Six Apart's blogging platforms can go to www.movabletype.com, www.typepad.com and www.vox.com.
