Six 'Artefact Reports' Reveal Opportunities From Product Trends

Design Consultancy Releases Industry Reports

SEATTLE, WA--(Marketwire - February 11, 2011) - Artefact, a Seattle-based design consultancy, today announced the publication of six reports on product and software trends that are changing the lives of consumers and changing the opportunities for business success. The Artefact team routinely researches relevant trends in order to design effective strategies and features for their clients.

The Artefact Reports are available for free upon request from the Artefact web site at and include topics relevant to a range of industries reflecting their clientele.

"These reports should be useful for anyone," said Christopher Konrad, Research Director of Artefact. "In our diverse client work, we often find inspiration from a trend or advancement that comes from a completely different field. A trend we find in sustainability programs might end up being useful in hospital patient management or enterprise software."

The six reports are:

Personal Analytics Are Becoming Automatic and Actionable
Toward the Unfulfilled Promise of Smart Sensors
Big "App-ortunities" for the Camera Industry
Cameras Connect
The Frontier of Persuasive Design
Computing Becomes Decentralized

In addition to work for clients, the reports also draw on Artefact's internal efforts to design for the future, including Camera Futura, a camera design concept that merges high quality photography with the connectivity and app capability of smart phones, and Project Impact, an award-winning series of concepts designed to influence user behavior towards energy efficiency.

Rich with examples, all Artefact Reports include a background for the topic, the latest directions, and conclusions about business opportunities along with exercises designed to understand how the trend may affect readers' products and services.
