OTTAWA, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Oct. 25, 2012) - At any given time there are upwards of 1,400 Boil Water Advisories (BWAs) in Canada. The Water Chronicles checks all provincial and media sources on a daily basis to keep its boil water advisory maps current. Today, there are 6 new advisories across Canada; 3 in BC, 1 in Saskatchewan and 2 in Newfoundland Labrador.
BWAs in BC include McDonald Ranch & Lumber due to inadequate disinfection/ treatment ; Snowfield Village in Blue River due to maintenance or repairs; The Girl Guides of Canada's Tillicum Lodge in Maple Ridge, no reason given.
In Saskatchewan, Battlefords Provincial Park is under advisory due to intermittent insufficient disinfection levels in the distribution system. In Newfoundland Labrador, total coliforms were detected in Hawkes Bay distribution system and in Happy Valley-Goose Bay, the distribution system is undergoing maintenance or repairs, affecting Roberts Road #44-77.
