Sixty-Six Percent of Washington Business Leaders Surveyed Say They Plan to Hire in Coming Year

More Than Two-Hundred Companies Weigh-In at "Best Companies to Work For" Event

SEATTLE, WA--(Marketwire - Jun 30, 2011) - Miller Nash LLP released the results of its 2011 Business Outlook Survey in which Washington State business leaders overwhelmingly indicated they felt their revenues would increase, and that they would hire in the coming year.

More than 200 company leaders responded to the survey, which was conducted amongst attendees at Seattle Business magazine's "100 Best Companies to Work For" event held on June 16 at the Seattle Westin Hotel. Miller Nash was a signature sponsor of the event.

Results from the survey included:

  • 90 percent of those surveyed anticipated that their revenues would increase.

  • 66 percent said that they planned to hire within the year.

  • 67 percent said they felt positive about the economy as a whole.

  • 51 percent anticipated using more outside consultants or contract services in the coming year.

  • Half of those surveyed reported concern over the possible impact of governmental regulations on their business, indicating uncertainty among the respondents.

"It's always helpful to take the pulse of the business community on important economic issues that will likely affect the way we all do business in the coming year," said Guy Towle, partner and head of Miller Nash's Seattle office. "In this case, we feel encouraged that business leaders are feeling so positive about the economy that they are anticipating growing their businesses."
