Skater Game Brings Iconic Street Spots to Your iPhone

First Time Hollywood High, Carlsbad Gap and Parks Like The Berrics, Woodward and Stoner Plaza Created Authentically in a Game

SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA--(Marketwired - Oct 9, 2014) - Designed by skateboarders, the new touch-based game, Skater, is available for iPhone and iPod Touch today. The game includes iconic street spots like Hollywood High, Carlsbad Gap, and the best parks including The Berrics, Woodward and Stoner Plaza. Players can skate the newest products from etnies, Lakai, éS, Emerica, Zero, Toy Machine, Foundation, Baker, Deathwish, Shake Junt, Bro Style, Pig Wheels, Sptifire, Thunder and Venture.

With Hollywood High featured in the game, Andrew Reynolds broke down this legendary spot here:

Blurring the line between single and multiplayer experiences, Skater enables social interaction, letting players share their own challenges and experiences. Skater is like taking part in a huge skate session, with users around the world exploring and sharing different ways to skate the spot. This gives players access to unlimited content -- a never-ending feed of new ideas and challenges, unlike any other previous skating game.

Players control their board and shoes in a very direct way with the touch screen, allowing Skater to capture the flow and feel of skating more than any other game for the current generation of devices. This also allows Skater to be the first touch-based skating game to include the full range of street tricks, including 360s and bigflips -- which can be used in combination with manuals, and every grind and slide variation.

"We wanted to make a game that captures some of the experience of skateboarding itself," said Dain Hedgpeth, Director for Frosch Media. "Skater celebrates style and individuality, knowing that different people see different things in a spot and skate it in their own unique way. Enabling players to tap into and contribute to an infinite pool of trick runs from around the world makes for a truly unique experience, and we really can't wait to see all the cool ideas people will come up with!"

This is the first time these real skate parks and street locations have been created authentically in any skating game. Starting with architectural plans from the city, Google height maps and on-site photography, every detail has been faithfully recreated down to the graffiti, street signs and even stickers on obstacles.
