Skedaddle to Provide Free Transportation to State and National Parks from REI Stores in Boston, Denver, San Francisco, Seattle and Washington, D.C. on Black Friday

Skedaddle partners with REI to #OptOutside and asks Americans, "Will You Go Out with Us?"

BOSTON, MA and NEW YORK, NY--(Marketwired - Nov 14, 2016) - Skedaddle is partnering with REI, national outdoor co-op, to transport hundreds of people from large urban areas to some of our country's most iconic national parks on Black Friday.

The company joins over 400 nonprofits, government agencies and companies dedicated to removing barriers to the outdoors. Skedaddle and REI will team up to provide free Skedaddle rides from REI locations in Boston, Denver, San Francisco, Seattle and Washington, D.C. to parks outside those cities on Black Friday. Anyone interested can sign up via Skedaddle's website and app. Perfect for outdoors enthusiasts without cars, those seeking to reduce their carbon footprint or groups of friends looking to escape the city together, Skedaddle will conveniently pick up riders from REI stores and deliver them to parks like Olympic National Park in Washington state and Great Falls Overlook in Virginia. More information is available at bit.ly/SkedaddleREI.

"When we saw REI was again encouraging people to get outdoors on Black Friday, we knew we had to do something to improve access to the outdoors for those who would love to participate but might lack the resources to get outside their cities," said Adam Nestler, CEO and co-founder of Skedaddle. "With Skedaddle, anyone can reserve a seat on a ride to parks nationwide, making it easier than ever to connect people with nature. Whether traveling solo or riding with a group of hikers, Skedaddle empowers riders to reach amazing destinations anywhere in North America."

"Last year, more than 1 million people joined us to #OptOutside and choose trails over sales on Black Friday. This year, the momentum has been driven by over 400 great partners like Skedaddle who are helping outdoors lovers in major metropolitan cities access amazing outdoor experiences with their friends and family," said Alex Thompson, REI's vice president of Public Aairs.
