Skout Community Director Recognized With Safety Award by the Family Online Safety Institute

The FOSI Award Recognizes Skout's Industry-Leading Efforts to Maintain a Safe Experience for Its Community

SAN FRANCISCO, CA--(Marketwire - Nov 20, 2012) - Skout, one of the largest mobile networks for meeting new people, received recognition at the Annual Family Online Safety Institute (FOSI) Conference in Washington DC on November 14 & 15 for outstanding achievements in safety. Skout's Director of Community, Gosia Aleta, was recognized by FOSI for her achievements in providing a safe, engaging and fun community for meeting new people.

The FOSI award for outstanding achievement is awarded to those individuals who have demonstrated an outstanding commitment to advancing the goal of a safer Internet, through development of policies and content to keep children safe online.

Aleta and her team of more than 40 community managers actively monitor Skout's two separate and distinct communities for teens and adults. The community managers reinforce Skout's zero-tolerance policy for inappropriate behavior by working with the engineering, product and marketing teams to find and ban unacceptable content and users.

"Skout is extremely proud of Gosia and her team of online protectors for all their hard work in ensuring that our community is a fun, safe place to make new connections and friends," said VP of Trust, Safety & Community Karen Barker. "The FOSI award recognizes Gosia and Skout's sustained efforts to enforce our safety policies and implement market-leading measures to protect our community. Skout's outstanding community management staff and continuous hands-on monitoring are helping drive the industry towards building a safer Internet."

Aleta manages Skout's relationship with the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC), resulting in successful reports of inappropriate behavior and leading to protection from online predators. Skout community managers also engage directly with law enforcement to provide assistance with investigations regarding children and adults.

Skout is one of the world's largest and most active mobile social scenes, with users in more than 180 countries. Skout's community displays a significant degree of engagement, and 1.5 million users join every month. The app is available for iPhone, iPad and Android.
