Skrill is the Future of Moneybookers

Company Set for Next Phase of Global Rebrand as Growth Continues

LONDON, UNITED KINGDOM--(Marketwire - Sept. 28, 2011) - Skrill (Moneybookers), one of Europe's largest online payments providers, will be implementing the second phase of its rebrand on 28th September 2011. From this date, both consumers and merchants will see Skrill appear alongside Moneybookers and a new design will be displayed on the company website.

This planned design improvement is the second of a three stage rebrand process, which will finish when Moneybookers fully becomes Skrill in 2012. The company, which processes payments for online powerhouse brands such as Skype, Facebook, ebay.com and recently having been introduced on ebay Germany, sees the rebrand as a logical next step to continuing its global expansion.

Skrill (Moneybookers) currently has over 20 million account holders globally and offers over 100 payment options in over 200 countries, processing in over 41 different currencies. The Skrill brand was first introduced in spring 2011 and has been carefully implemented ever since to ensure that both merchants and consumers were aware of the change. Skrill (Moneybookers) will now be displayed on the familiar user flows and known functionality of the Moneybookers website. Existing Moneybookers users don't need to do anything to their account; it will still be fully functional and they can keep using Skrill (Moneybookers) as they always have.

Commenting on the rebrand, Martin Ott, Skrill's Co-CEO said:

"Skrill is a universal payment brand that works well internationally and has been optimised to standout and ultimately aid conversion at checkout pages of online-shops. It stands for liberating and simplifying the previously complex process of payments, offering a safe and innovative way for consumers to pay for goods online."

Nikolai Riesenkampff, Skrill's Co-CEO added:

"Our enormous growth is underpinned by a commitment to providing merchants and account holders with the perfect online payment system from a single source."

By summer 2012, a new website and improved payment facilities will be launched along with a complete adoption of Skrill; dropping the Moneybookers brand. For existing merchants, all current functionality will remain available, however, Skrill recommends updating logos on checkout pages.
