Sky Bet: Transfer Deadline Day Betting News

LONDON, UNITED KINGDOM--(Marketwire - Aug. 31, 2011) - While Peter Crouch, Chris Samba, Yossi Benayoun, Craig Bellamy and Jermaine Jenas all look on the move by 11pm tonight, online betting firm Sky Bet anticipate the two big deals to be no-goers on transfer deadline day.

Luka Modric's dream of joining Chelsea looks to be dead with the online bookmaker now offering 6/1 for him to leave Tottenham this summer, while reported Manchester United target Wesley Sneijder is 3/1 to leave Inter Milan.

While those two big-money moves look to have stalled, Sky Bet's transfer specials markets have five Premier League players odds on to move on deadline day.

Peter Crouch is now 2/9 to leave White Hart Lane with Stoke (1/3), QPR (3/1) and Sunderland (5/1) his most likely suitors, while Yossi Benayoun is odds on at 6/5 to sign for Spurs this evening.

Having already signed Per Mertesacker, Arsenal are favourites to sign another giant defender in Blackburn's Samba, while the Gunners are also 7/4 to land Benayoun with Tottenham (6/5) and Liverpool (6/4) also thought to be in the running.

Jenas is another midfielder seemingly on the move with Stoke (½) favourites ahead of Aston Villa (6/4) and QPR (6/1).

Sky Bet spokeman Dale Tempest said: "Every transfer window throws up its own surprises. In January no one expected the Torres/Carroll situation to develop and from what was a generally quiet window, it turned in to one of the most dramatic ever deadline days."

The online bookmaker have betting open on a host of other players with Daniel Sturridge, Jack Rodwell, Leighton Baines, Nemanja Vidic and Guiseppe Rossi's future all in the spotlight.
