Sky Poker Tour Grand Final Set for Action This Weekend

Nottingham's Dusk Till Dawn is the venue for the SPT Grand Final, with a guaranteed prizepool of GBP40,000 to be won and a champion crowned.

LONDON, UNITED KINGDOM--(Marketwire - Sept. 6, 2011) - Online poker room Sky Poker is set to hit Nottingham's Dusk Till Dawn this weekend for its season-closing SPT Grand Final. While most of the players typically play poker online, the Grand Final will give them the chance to clash over the poker felt, with a prizepool of at least £40,000 to be won.

With the previous cap of 240 players having easily been filled through's online satellites, qualification was re-opened late last week to allow even more players to take their shot at one of the best-structured tournaments on the UK poker circuit.

The field includes winners from this season's previous legs, including Lewis 'Brownndog' Taylor, Wayne 'Gliterbabe' Rideout, Adam 'Bromley04' Bromley and Jamie 'hurst05' Hurst. They will be joined by Team Sky Poker members Dan Brown, James Williams and Redmond Lee, as well as resident pro and EPT winner Julian Thew, who has already enjoyed a top three finish on the Sky Poker Tour this season.

Coverage of the tournament will include a live video stream and interactive chat and forum posts. Players will also be tweeting their progress from the tables using the hashtag #sptfinal, meaning friends and family from the online poker community can follow their tournament through social media.
