Skyline Announces Initial Assay Results

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(Marketwire - Aug. 17, 2007) - Skyline Gold Corporation ("Skyline" or the "Company") (TSX VENTURE:SK) is pleased to announce drill hole results for drill hole L0701 and partial results for drill hole L0702. These holes were drilled into the Bronson Slope deposit in an area known as the Red Bluff. Both drill holes were mineralized throughout and ended in mineralization. Both holes were directed "grid south" at -45 degrees on two separate sections 50 metres apart. The purpose of the drill holes was to test and extend the known porphyry style mineralization at the Red Bluff Zone both to depth and to the south. These two holes are the first of a 5,000 metre program designed to produce information from both infill and exploration drilling.

Drill hole L0701 had a length of 466.3 metres. The results from 5.2 metres to 466.3 metres averaged 0.107 g/t Au, 0.082% Cu, 1.0 g/t Ag and 0.017% Mo. The molybdenum assay average of 0.017% indicated the presence of significant molybdenum values not previously recorded in the Red Bluff zone. A higher grade interval from 5.2 metres to 82.3 metres averaged 0.036% molybdenum while gold averaged 0.156 g/t, copper averaged 0.127% and silver averaged 1.2 g/t.

Drill hole L0702 had a length of 393.2 metres of which 219.1 metres has been assayed. The hole averaged 0.727 g/t Au, 0.238% Cu, 3.0 g/t Ag and 0.006% Mo, with several high grade intercepts; the most significant from 134.1 metres to 147.7 metres averaging 2.445 g/t Au, 0.362% Cu, 16.5 g/t Ag and 0.001% Mo. This hole obtained the highest average metal values of all holes drilled to date.

Drilling has been completed on a further three holes in the main zone to the east of the Red Bluff Zone and samples have been sent for assay. The eastern extension, containing significant molybdenum values, will be tested by two more infill holes and an additional infill drill hole will be completed in the main zone. Two drill pads have also been constructed to test the high wall gold zone. Additional drill hole collars to complete the 5,000 metre program will be selected on receipt of all assays from the first five holes.
