Slalom Consulting Appoints General Manager in Dallas

Industry Veteran Mike Courtney Accelerates Growth and Development of Solutions in Emerging Market

SEATTLE, WA and DALLAS, TX--(Marketwire - May 6, 2008) - Slalom Consulting, ranked one of the best consulting firms to work for in the U.S., today announced the appointment of Mike Courtney as general manager of its Dallas office. Courtney will be responsible for overseeing all operations within the Dallas office, following its official launch in 2007. In the coming year, Courtney will focus efforts in Dallas on deepening client relationships through the delivery of management and technology consulting services.

Courtney brings more than 18 years in IT and management consulting to his new position at Slalom. In his most recent role as practice leader for the IT Transformation Solutions Practice at BearingPoint, Inc., he was responsible for North American sales, and the delivery of consulting services ranging from strategy to implementation. At BearingPoint, Courtney and his team drove multi-million dollar revenues annually. Courtney has also held positions with Andersen Consulting and Electronic Data Systems. His work with Big 4 consulting firms and background with high-profile enterprise clients provides Slalom with a competitive advantage in Dallas, and enables the company to provide a high return on investment and maintain its formula for excellent client service.

"Slalom has a long-standing history of appointing seasoned leadership and building strong teams in each of our offices across the U.S.," said John Tobin, national general manager of Slalom Consulting. "Mike will be the foundation for our new team in Dallas, and brings the right combination of experience and drive to grow this region rapidly."

Slalom's local-based consulting model allows consultants to remain dedicated to the clients in their region, eliminating the cross-country commuting and excessive travel expenses associated with traditional consulting firms. Building on the foundation of the local-based model, the Dallas office will provide specialized client services in areas such as business intelligence, enterprise resource planning (ERP), Microsoft technologies and program/project management.

"Dallas is a natural fit for Slalom's growth, given the synergy between the market's needs and our specialized solutions," Courtney said. "Slalom's business model has been proven repeatedly in emerging markets, attracting high-profile clients and experienced consultants. Through 2008, the Dallas office will focus efforts on deepening long lasting relationships with clients, expanding the market and reinforcing company culture amidst growth."
