Slate Retail REIT Announces the Purchase of Abbott's Village in Georgia

TORONTO, ON--(Marketwired - May 16, 2016) - Slate Retail REIT (TSX: SRT.U)(TSX: SRT.UN) (the "REIT"), an owner and operator of U.S. grocery-anchored real estate, announced today that it has entered into a binding agreement to acquire Abbott's Village, a 93% occupied Publix anchored centre, in the Atlanta Metropolitan Statistical Area. The property will be acquired for U.S. $15.2 million (U.S. $139 per square foot).

Closing is expected to be completed in second quarter 2016 and remains subject to customary closing conditions. The acquisition of Abbott's Village will be the 6th property in the REIT's portfolio located in the attractive Atlanta Metropolitan Statistical Area.
