Sleep Country USA Celebrates Success of 2nd Annual Shoe Drive for Foster Kids

Collecting More Than 2,000 Pairs of Shoes for Area Foster Children, Sleep Country USA Thanks Individuals and Businesses, Especially Haggis McBaggis in Oregon, for Donations

SEATTLE, WA -- (MARKET WIRE) -- March 20, 2007 -- Sleep Country USA's second annual shoe drive for area foster kids collected more than 2,000 pairs of shoes this year. Notably, Haggis McBaggis, a children's shoe store in Portland, Oregon known for selling fashionably comfortable kids' shoes and unique accessories, donated 203 pairs of new shoes.

"When businesses like Haggis McBaggis participate in our foster kids drives, the spike in collected items is incredibly significant," said Terry Horsley, executive vice president, marketing & merchandising. "One of our charitable goals this year is to encourage and entice all area businesses that are interested in giving back to the community to participate in one (or all) of our six foster kids drives. It's a terrific way to get involved without having to invest time in identifying the cause, finding partners and building momentum."

"Kids are our number one focus, and we understand, as a store for children, that comfortable shoes are a priority," said Haggis McBaggis owner Josh Pincetich. "We are proud to support children in our local community through donations to schools and fundraisers. The Sleep Country Foster Kids Shoe Drive was another avenue where we could make a difference in the lives of area children -- especially those in foster care that often have limited resources."

Currently holding its New Clothing Drive for Foster Children through April 15th, 2007, Sleep Country has also announced the dates of its annual Pajama Bowl in the Seattle market and, for the first time, Portland. On Sunday, May 20th, 2007, Portland-area residents, and on Sunday, June 3rd, 2007, Seattle-area residents can have fun bowling in their pajamas while raising money for local foster organizations. Each member of the winning team in each location will take home a brand new Simmons Beautyrest Mattress set (also known as the "Bowling Ball Mattress"). Registration will begin on April 9th, 2007, and forms will be available online and at any of the Sleep Country USA stores.

To get involved in the current new clothing drive, donate items today to any of the company's more than 60 stores.
