SLI Systems Introduces Conversion Optimizer for Easy-to-Use Multivariate Testing of Site Search and Navigation

SLI Takes the Headaches Out of Testing Changes in Site Search Design and Format, Providing Companies With Valuable Feedback for Increasing Revenue and Conversions

CUPERTINO, CA--(Marketwire - February 22, 2010) - SLI Systems, provider of on-demand, intelligent search services for Internet and e-commerce sites, today announced the launch of Conversion Optimizer, its tool for conducting A/B and multivariate testing of search and navigation features. Conversion Optimizer is now available in beta version to selected existing SLI customers.

Conducting multivariate tests is usually costly and time consuming for site owners -- but without such tests, they miss out on opportunities to improve the user experience and generate more revenue. With Conversion Optimizer, website owners can easily and quickly run tests on variations in site search design and features to determine which options encourage desirable customer behaviors, thereby improving conversions. For instance, site owners can test various positions for the search box, or format and refinement options for search results pages, and view the results of the tests in an easy-to-read console.

"Testing the various options for site search design takes a lot of time, and often doesn't yield actionable results, leaving you without a clear indication of best practices for your site," said Shaun Ryan, CEO of SLI Systems. "Our new Conversion Optimizer solves these problems, since we take care of the complex testing configurations for our customers -- and they can see test results quickly."

Working with SLI's engineering team, Conversion Optimizer users can choose how many site visitors will view each variation, and which part of the conversion funnel should be optimized -- for instance, counts of customers who see product pages, or the total value or margin of products added to shopping carts. Site owners can also stop tests that are performing poorly with a simple mouse click.

Once the tests are completed, site owners can use the testing console to add notes in order to create a rich record of results and testing variations. Users can also generate reports to share with colleagues that clearly explain how each testing variation is performing.

"SLI's new Conversion Optimizer brings simplicity and accessibility to testing, without sacrificing sophistication," said Susan Aldrich, senior vice president of Patricia Seybold Group. "Additionally, SLI's expert team handles most of the heavy lifting and gives merchants and marketers the help they need to generate results quickly and without pain."
