Slide, Next Gen Mobile Money Manager, to Debut First-Ever Gift Card Management Features at Money20/20

Founders to Announce New Features, Provide Insight Into Consumer Gift Card Usage, and Offer Vision for Untapped Gift Card Potential

NEW YORK, NY--(Marketwired - October 20, 2015) - Slide, a next generation digital money management, or "PFM" platform, today announced that it has been selected to participate in the Money20/20 Launchpad360° showcase of the most promising fintech startups. The company's three founders plan to demo their initial product -- a digital gift card wallet app launched this summer -- and offer an exciting new vision for the future of gift cards.

Last year, Americans purchased $125 billion in new gift cards, yet between $10-$25 billion of that value remains unredeemed. For consumers, it's money wasted if not spent, and for brands, every unused or underused card is a missed opportunity to engage the customer. This is where Slide comes in.

The New York-based company is looking to disrupt the gift card industry and turn gift cards into everything they should be, but aren't -- easy to use, value-transparent, enjoyable to redeem. Fresh into the marketplace, Slide already has three distinctive features no other gift card app does: support for gift card balance checks for almost every brand at the click of a button, the ability to discover nearby locations where you can use your cards, and real-time customer service accessed from within the app.

At the Launchpad360° presentation, the company will introduce new market-leading features that will further enhance the way Slide's users interact with each other, their gift cards, and ultimately with the retailers who issue them.

"Like almost everyone else in this country, we're gift card buyers and users, and we've seen firsthand just how easy it is to lose interest and lose track of all the gift cards you accumulate," said Michael Morris, CEO of Slide. "We set out to turn gift cards into something people will enjoy using."

The app, which currently has a 5-star rating in the Apple App Store, provides an elegant interface to add, organize and redeem cards alongside advanced customer information security. Customers can rediscover lost card value, while merchants get renewed brand awareness and increased spend at brick and mortar locations or online.

Slide co-founders Morris, Anthony Winslow (COO) and Trevor Filter (Head of Product), are all veterans of American Express where they focused on emerging payment technologies and forging digital partnerships with Apple Pay, Foursquare and others.

"Our experience at AmEx and in fintech is what inspired us to do something with gift cards," said Winslow. "Nowhere else in the payments world are there as many inefficiencies and missed opportunities for both consumers and brands. With Slide, we are bridging the gap and making gift cards exciting to use -- in a way taking the 'card' out of gift card so people can focus on using their stored value and in sharing this value with others, which is what it really should be about."

Slide will be presenting on Monday, October 26th at 3:55 PM PT on the Launchpad360° Keynote Stage at Money20/20 in Las Vegas, and all three of Slide's co-founders will be available for interviews at Booth #LPK3 throughout October 25-28.

Last year's Launchpad360° start-ups collectively raised $40 million in funding within 6 months of the Money20/20 Conference. "It's a testament to the high quality of start-ups participating in the Launchpad program and Slide is honored to be in such valued company. We're excited to have been chosen to participate in this year's event, and even more excited to share what we have coming up," said Filter.

Interviews with Slide's founders both during Money20/20 in Las Vegas and in New York can be scheduled through MacMillan Communications. Please contact Chris Sullivan at (212) 473-4442 /
