Slurpee Invites Fans to Celebrate Spring With Bring Your Own Cup Day

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(Marketwired - March 16, 2015) - Spring is in the air and so is Slurpee! 7-Eleven has today announced it will be celebrating the first day of Spring and the official start of Slurpee season with its Bring Your Own Cup Day event on Friday, March 20. Back by popular demand, last year's Bring Your Own Cup Day saw Slurpee fans race to their local stores and slurp from teapots, buckets, trophies, fish bowls and even slow cookers.

The creative Slurpee promotion will run from 11:00am - 7:00pm at all 7-Eleven stores from B.C. to Ontario, while Slurpee lasts.

Slurpee fans are being challenged to use their imagination and bring their choice of weird and wonderful container to their local 7-Eleven store and fill it with Slurpee flavours for just $1.49. Containers have to be no more than 26cm in diameter, water tight, clean and hygienic.

"We believe Slurpee lovers can get even more creative this year," says Raj Kapoor, Vice President and General Manager, 7-Eleven Canada. "A high bar was set last year but we know our customers can take the cup creativity up another level and have even more fun - we've seen time and time again how imaginative and individual Slurpee fans can be."

Customers will be able to fill-up their own choice of container with a wide range of Slurpee flavours including March feature flavours, new Slurpuccino and Dole Sour Green Apple.

To join in and follow the fun this year, use the hashtag #BYOC. A selection of last year's cups can be found at Facebook.com/slurpeecanada.
