Small Builder Wins Big at the Home Builder's Association of Maryland's MAX Awards

OPaL Brings Home Top Honors for Their Community Brochure and Logo, Building Excitement for the Community's Broker's Open House on June 7th

LANHAM, MD--(Marketwire - May 23, 2011) - OPaL, a privately owned boutique homebuilder based in Lanham, MD, out-marketed every builder in their category at the 2011 MAX Awards, taking home top honors for Best Builder Logo and Outstanding Builder Brochure for their Cabin John Crossing development.

The MAX Awards are the annual awards for building and marketing excellence given by the Home Builder's Association of Maryland. Winners in other categories include industry leaders like Bozzuto Homes, K. Hovnanian Homes, EYA, Ryland Homes, NVHomes and Miller & Smith. "Cabin John Crossing is an exceptional community that I hold dear in my heart. Much larger builders with greater marketing resources than OPaL were in this competition, so I'm thrilled to have our community honored in this way," states Sean Ruppert, President of OPaL.

And this may very well be the first of many awards for Cabin John Crossing, an intimate enclave of just four updated single-family farmhomes designed by Seattle-based architect, Gregory Sparhawk. Nestled among the historic Sears bungalows on Macarthur Boulevard and 79th Street in DC, Cabin John Crossing represents the first publicly available new construction in the neighborhood in years. Construction has now begun on the first home and excitement is building in the home buying community leading up to the Broker's Open House on June 7th.

"No detail has been spared to make this the most exceptional offering the DC area has seen in years," says Ruppert. "From its location along the C&O Canal Towpath, inviting architecture echoing the flavor of the surrounding neighborhood and the adjacent shopping to interesting features inside and outside of the homes, Cabin John Crossing follows the path of the exception, rather than the rule."

At the Open House on June 7th from 12-2, brokers will get their first look at vision behind Cabin John Crossing. They will also see the community's award-winning brochure, while enjoying catering from the fabulous Wild Tomato restaurant, located just steps from the development. "Our Open House is not just about the homes. It's about the lifestyle experience of this charming neighborhood, its fabulous location and the quirky sophistication of the community it inhabits. So we invite brokers to experience it themselves, because that's the only way to get the full flavor of Cabin John Crossing," concludes Ruppert.

The four updated farmhomes at Cabin John Crossing start from $1.5 million and only three remain available at press time.
