Siblings Peter, Dan and Rachel grew up in small town Kitimat, BC and later moved with their parents to Langley, BC to help them open up their family run Chinese restaurant.

When Mr. and Mrs. Ly first opened their doors to their small Chinese restaurant in Langley 18 years ago, little did they know that their kids would be taking over the reins years later and building a locally made empire - Ming & Sing. The siblings opened their Surrey, Hillcrest location in 2010. Since then, they have opened three more, bringing the total units to four, in just three years.

Many things have changed since their family restaurant sold nine years ago; however, they carry on the same principles that their late mom passed on to them. Fresh food is prepared with quality ingredients.

Ming & Sing have chosen to have a larger presence in the BC market and franchising is in the pipeline.

"Ready to go", says Rachel Ly….

"After 20 years of experience in the food industry, 7 years of developing the concept, and 4 successful running locations later, we are ready to go. We have built a solid foundation for our brand," says Rachel Ly, the youngest of the 3 siblings. "Our experience from the ground up tremendously helped us in developing the operational systems. Chinese cooking is a bit more complicated than putting together a sandwich. Sourcing the right ingredients and training cooks to accurately execute cooking techniques was definitely a challenge. However, now we are proud that our restaurants can deliver high volume on less training hours. Since the inception of Ming & Sing, customers and investors have approached us on numerous occasions wanting to invest in our brand. We did not feel we were ready then, but we are now and we are excited about our expansion."

Ming & Sing offers a quality product and customers recognize and appreciate that. They produce all of their own food from scratch and they are all family recipes. Some of the favourites at Ming & Sing include classics like Sweet and Sour Pork and spicy Kung Pao Chicken. The siblings have also invented their own dishes like crowd favourite Honey Almond Chicken and Five Spice Pork.

Become part of our Family….

Investing in Ming & Sing is a great opportunity in an untapped market with unlimited potential. Ming & Sing is able to compete in the quick serve market and at the same time, deliver a quality product that is able to compete with your neighbourhood Chinese restaurants. If you observe their traffic, you will notice on the run professionals grabbing a quick lunch or moms and dads picking up dinner for the family in the evenings. Quick serve restaurants depend highly on walk in traffic but Ming & Sing has been successful because they have created a destination - customers drive to their doors and buy food.

The investment required is $350, 000-$450,000, depending on the size and location. The siblings' goal is to continue their mom's passion and spread the love to all of Canada. For more info about Ming & Sing visit www.mingandsing.com or email franchise@mingandsing.com.
