SmartMetric Builds a Better Payments Card Using Biometrics -- Adding a Fingerprint Reader Inside Your Credit and Debit Card to Turn on the Card Ensures Only You Can Use Your Card

NEW YORK, NY--(Marketwired - Sep 4, 2014) - SmartMetric, Inc. (OTCQB: SMME) has developed a super small fingerprint reader that fits inside your credit or debit card that is used to read your fingerprint from an on card sensor that then matches your fingerprint with the fingerprint stored inside the card which then after the card users identity is established using biometrics turns on the card. This is all done in less than a second. There are a number of features of the biometric payments card specifically designed to protect the consumer. First of all the user's fingerprint is stored inside the Cortex processor inside the card. Your fingerprint never leaves your card and is not stored on a central database thereby protecting the user's fingerprint. From a users security perspective this overcomes previous attempts at biometric implementations that had a person's biometrics stored on a central computer. And as is all too frequently shown, a central database of consumer information is the least safe method for security. The second advantage of the SmartMetric in-card fingerprint reader is that it doesn't require different ATM or retail card readers. "Using the EMV chip on card technology being used around the world and now being adopted in the United States as the communication interface, the SmartMetric Biometric card solution represents a giant leap forward in data and payments security," said the company President & CEO, Chaya Hendrick.

SmartMetric has started marketing its card in Europe and will soon start sales and marketing in Asia and parts of Latin America. After the adoption of the new EMV chip cards has passed 50% of card users in the USA which is expected to be by mid 2015, the company will then direct its marketing and sales effort into the United States said the SmartMetric President. Trials and purchasers of the SmartMetric card are expected soon after the company brings online its mass card production which will be done in Asia.
