SmartMetric Completes Engineering of Specialized Machinery for the Mass Production of the World's First In-Card Fingerprint Scanner

BUENOS AIRES, ARGENTINA--(Marketwire - Oct 11, 2011) - SmartMetric, Inc. (OTCBB: SMME) announced today that it has completed engineering of its specialized machinery to be installed in the company's high volume manufacturing facility in Latin America. The company said it chose Argentina for its manufacturing base because of the stable political environment relative to many other Latin American countries, its safety for its employees in the Capital City of Buenos Aires, a low cost and yet educated workforce, along with favorable export treaties providing low to no cost tariff taxation for exports around the world.

The Company President and CEO, C. Hendrick stated, "We are assembling what will be the most advanced manufacturing facility for Credit Cards, ID Cards and Health Insurance Cards in the World. SmartMetric has had to special engineer their lamination production machinery that would meet the company's high volume production targets as well as use low heat, low pressure methods that would not destroy its sophisticated encased electronics."

Traditional credit card manufacturing utilizes a lamination process that involves the welding of two sheets of plastic together by using high heat and high pressure. This process works well for standard credit cards. However, we will insert inside the credit card a complex four (4) layer circuit board with sub micro thin components. Existing card production machinery would simply not work. Processes used for standard credit cards that use high pressure and high heat would in effect destroy our internal electronics during even low volume production.

The company will be accepting delivery of its specially engineered production machinery in early 2012 giving it the manufacturing capacity to commence sales of its world's first, in-card finger print scanning Biometric Cards, for the Banking, Security and Health Records Industries.
