SmartMetric Fingerprint Activated Credit Card With Rechargeable Battery Inside Allows Card to Be Biometric Activated Prior to Insertion Into a Card Reader or ATM

NEW YORK, NY--(Marketwired - February 18, 2016) - SmartMetric, Inc. (OTCQB: SMME) SmartMetric has created a credit and debit card with a powerful fingerprint scanner built inside the card. It has taken SmartMetric over a decade of research and development to create the electronics small enough to fit inside a payments card while keeping the thickness of the card within credit card sized standards. It also has an inbuilt rechargeable battery that allows the card to be activated prior to insertion into a retail card reader or ATM.

We have built our biometric card technology around to work with the new EMV chip cards and it works using existing EMV card reader's and ATM's. To use a tech industry term, our biometric payments card is interoperable with the existing global banking payments card infrastructure said today, SmartMetric's President & CEO, Chaya Hendrick.

The SmartMetric biometric payments card is the world's first EMV card that uses a rechargeable battery and is the size and thickness of a standard credit card. Our card is a working card and is ready for sale unlike other cards in Deven that have not been able to be made things enough or have a working power management system, said Chaya Hendrick.

There are more than 3.4 billion EMV chip cards in use around the world. SmartMetric is looking at selling into this market at a price of $50.00 per card. This is close to 50% less than other electronic cards that don't even have a biometric fingerprint reader inside according to SmartMetric.

SmartMetric is now in talks with card issuing Banks in North America and Europe and will be soon introducing it's card in South East Asia and Latin America.

About SmartMetric: SmartMetric has created a safer and better user validation and identification technology for payment and identity cards using a person's individual and unique biometrics to validate and identify the card user. The company has created a super miniature fully functional powerful fingerprint scanner that fits inside a payments card as well as identity and secure log on cards. Using an internal Cortex processor built in the card the SmartMetric biometric card scans, reads and matches a person's fingerprint in less than 0.25 seconds. The card's internal scanner is powered by a rechargeable battery developed by SmartMetric and also embedded inside the payments and identity card. SmartMetric is a publicly traded fully reporting company on the United States OTCQB exchange.
