SmartMetric Has Commenced Production of Its Biometric Fingerprint Payments Card

NEW YORK, NY--(Marketwired - Jul 9, 2015) - SmartMetric, Inc. (OTCQB: SMME) SmartMetric, the creator and developer of the biometric activated payments card, has begun manufacturing.

"The manufacturing process has many moving parts. Because we have pushed the envelope on the scale and size of electronic components, as well as electronic assembly and even the plastic card manufacturing process, when we manufacture our cards we are in fact involved in a number of sub-manufacturing processes and events to create the finished total product. Each sub-manufacturing process is a manufacturing event in its own right that has taken years of research and development to achieve. Unlike manufacturing consumer products, like a mobile phone that all use in the main standard off-the-shelf electronics, SmartMetric has had to engineer and re-engineer critical components itself in order to create its biometric fingerprint reader small and thin enough to fit inside the dimensions of a standard credit card," said SmartMetric's President & CEO Chaya Hendrick today.

In manufacturing our end product we are in fact having to manufacture over ten separate component parts that go into the SmartMetric fingerprint activated and protected payments card. Each one of these is a manufacturing event in its own right. Unlike making a standard industry chip or smart card that takes an off-the-shelf chip and places it on a standard laminated plastic card, the SmartMetric card involves many separate and disparate manufacturing efforts undertaken by the company. If we were to create a card that didn't have a rechargeable internal battery or many of our own engineered components and that was say ten times the thickness of a standard credit card, we could have easily released such a card many years ago. Our biggest challenge was to take the components of a fingerprint scanner and reduce them down to the size of a card that conforms with ISO standards for credit and debit cards, said the company President.

SmartMetric, after recently raising funds through private share equity investments, has now begun its manufacturing process to create its leading edge payments card product.
