SmartMetric Replaces Credit Card PIN Numbers With a Person's Fingerprint

The Next Generation Credit Card Security Developed by SmartMetric Inc.

SURFSIDE, FL--(Marketwired - Sep 16, 2013) - SmartMetric, Inc. (OTCQB: SMME) -- Speaking today from the company's offices in Florida, the company President & CEO said over 1.5 Billion Chip and Pin cards are in use today around the world. The PIN is the weak link in the security chain used by the EMV chip & pin cards used by today's Global Banks. Card thieves are now able to defeat the chip defenses of the chip on the card by simply hacking the card's PIN number. Smartmetric replaces the weak PIN security with the card owner's unique fingerprint that is stored inside the card owner's card. The person's fingerprint never leaves the card so it cannot be intercepted during a transaction. The person's unique fingerprint instead is read by a miniature sized fingerprint reader built inside the card. Upon scanning the persons fingerprint, the SmartMetric chip & fingerprint card uses a powerful computer processor inside the card to compare the newly acquired fingerprint scan with the card holder's pre-stored fingerprint that is encrypted and stored on a memory circuit that is also built into the card. Powering the SmartMetric chip & fingerprint cards electronics, including the internal processor, is a powerful and super slim rechargeable battery. This battery is recharged upon insertion into an EMV chip reader found in today's ATM's and POS (point of sale) machines. A self-contained miniature fingerprint scanner with an inbuilt fingerprint matching and verification system that is biometrically tied to the card owner. SmartMetric chip & fingerprint is generations ahead in providing a solution against today's card criminals. SmartMetric anticipates trials of its Chip & Fingerprint technology to commence within the last quarter of 2013.

SmartMetric is the developer of a two biometric form factor identity card that uses both the company's biometric in card fingerprint reader along with an in card facial recognition camera. This advanced security and identification product is scheduled for release in 2014. The SmartMetric developed advanced security product is designed for high level security in today's ongoing measures against building and facility infiltrators.
