Smartphones Technologies Signs 30 More Schools

College Hoops Mobile Downloads Available for 64 Schools

JACKSONVILLE, FL -- (MARKET WIRE) -- March 16, 2006 -- Smartphones Technologies, Inc. and Collegiate Images expanded their licensing agreement with leading colleges, adding 30 more schools to their mobile content line-up. Last year, Smartphones Technologies and Collegiate Images announced groundbreaking mobile content licensing agreements giving Smartphones exclusive rights to many of the country's top schools in licensing revenue. Under the new agreements, Smartphones has officially licensed college basketball mobile content available for 64 schools -- just in time for the basketball tournament.

Smartphones already has licensing agreements in place with many of the schools invited to the college basketball tournament, including: Texas, Pittsburgh, Alabama, Illinois, LSU, Kentucky, Arizona, Wisconsin, Oklahoma, Texas A&M and Ohio State. Under the expanded program, Smartphones and Collegiate Images added licensing agreements with leading basketball schools like: Villanova, Gonzaga, Wake Forest, George Washington, Georgetown, Indiana, San Diego State, Michigan State, Nevada, Air Force and Boston College.

Under the agreements, Smartphones creates and distributes officially licensed college sports wallpapers, animated screensavers, downloadable video clips, voice ringtones, ringback tones, text messaging campaigns and mobile games. In addition to the content provided by the schools, Smartphones sends its own photographers and video crews to games throughout the year to constantly refresh the content.

"With all eyes on college basketball now, we think this is a great way for fans to show their school spirit," said Mike Merrill, Founder and CEO of Smartphones Technologies. "Collegiate Images has been a fantastic partner and we're delighted to expand our relationship with them."

While others have licensed just the college logos alone, Smartphones is the only company to offer officially licensed college basketball action photos combined with the school logos in custom designs. All content is specially created for mobile devices and optimized to look great on very small screens. In addition to college basketball content, Smartphones has college cheerleaders, mascots, and marching band content, as well as every sport available at each school.

"Expanding our relationship with Smartphones creates a new revenue stream and a tremendous opportunity for our schools to connect with their alumni and fans," said Rich Routman, Director of Business Development at Collegiate Images. "This is a perfect marriage between a wonderful new product created by Smartphones and the desire of our school partners to capitalize on content explosion in the wireless space."
