SmartTalk PR & Promotions Brings Home Second Prestigious MarCom Award

AUSTIN, TX--(Marketwire - December 14, 2010) - Austin-based PR and Promotions firm, SmartTalk, has once again been named a 2010 Gold Winner in the Association of Marketing and Communication Professionals' prestigious MarCom Awards competition.

SmartTalk, founded in 2006 by principal Kathleen Reid, was chosen for its "Trustworthy Experts" entry in the External Communication Program category, beating out major, international competition. Focusing on its work with client Sapient Financial Group, of San Antonio, the public relations firm highlighted its expansive development of the financial organization's now-recognizable brand. Extensive coverage in regional and industry press, as well as a focus on awards and the client's good works, were targeted in 2010, with an emphasis on Sapient Financial advisers' strong ethical qualities and expertise.

"In four short years, SmartTalk has been the driving force in taking Sapient Financial Group from a relatively unknown firm to one of the top firms in recognition in the region," says Frank Woodruff, general agent with Sapient Financial. This is SmartTalk's second MarCom Gold Award -- the public relations and promotions organization received a nod in 2008 for its campaign to build Sapient Financial's brand.

The SmartTalk practice emphasizes small- to medium-size businesses, with a focus on fewer clients, which allows the operation to provide intensive personal service and creative, targeted messaging.
