Smash Minerals Commences Yukon Gold Exploration Program

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(Marketwire - May 10, 2011) -Smash Minerals Corp. (TSX VENTURE:SSH) (the "Company") is pleased to announce the commencement of its Summer 2011 field program on its 100% owned Whiskey Gold Property (the "Property") in the White Gold District, north-west Yukon, following completion of its camp and the receipt of a Class 3 Land Use Permit.

This Property, one of the largest in the White Gold District, with 4,177 claims extends over a distance of 60 km for a total of 846 square kilometers and lies due east of claims held by Kinross Gold who secured its White Gold District holding in 2010 by acquiring Underworld Resources.

Smash's 2011 field program is designed to further identify preliminary gold targets for an initial phase of drilling in August and September. The current program leverages a comprehensive Property wide ridge sampling program undertaken in Summer 2010. Over 7,000 soil samples were collected, followed up by a short phase of field checking. This work led to the identification of three targets with soil geochemistry, alteration and mineralization at surface similar to the 1.5 million ounce Golden Saddle discovery made by Underworld Resources in 2008.

The main elements of the 2011 field program will be ridge and grid soil sampling (at least 15,000 samples), mapping and prospecting, a Property wide detailed helicopter borne magnetics and radiometrics survey with 100m line spacing, trenching of prioritized targets, and approximately 3,000 metres of core drilling. Smash intends to analyze all of the grid soil samples at site using bench top XRF technology prior to sending samples to Vancouver for assay. This is expected to speed up the exploration program by delivering real time, qualitative data for pathfinder elements at the field camp well ahead of the more accurate assays from the laboratory.

The exploration program will be directed by Adrian Fleming, CEO and Director of Smash Minerals, formerly CEO of Underworld Resources who is a Qualified Person. A significant proportion of the Smash technical team formerly worked for Underworld Resources and were responsible for the Golden Saddle discovery in 2008. The budget for the proposed program will exceed C$4.5 million.
