SMDK Corp. Files Intellectual Property Lawsuit

BONITA SPRINGS, FL--(Marketwire - January 25, 2008) - SMDK Corp. (formerly SmartDisk Corporation) announced today that it has filed a complaint for patent infringement against eight companies in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Texas. The eight companies include Audiovox, Coby Electronics, Creative Labs/Creative Technology, Phison, Thomson (D/B/A RCA by Thomson), Seiko Epson (Epson), TIC Computer, Inc. (D/B/A Wolverine Data) and Vosonic Technology. This action alleges infringement of SMDK Corp.'s U.S. Patent Nos. 6,658,202 (which was awarded to SmartDisk on December 2, 2003) and 6,987,927 (which was granted to SmartDisk on January 17, 2006), that apply to portable digital multimedia products.
