Smilebox Announces New Teacher's Toolbox Program for Educators to Share Photo Albums, Slideshows, Classroom Updates and More

Leading Photo-Sharing Service Offers Teachers Free and Unlimited Access to More Than 900 Smilebox Designs

REDMOND, WA--(Marketwire - September 2, 2010) -  Smilebox Inc. (www.smilebox.com) announced today that it will launch its popular Teacher's Toolbox program in time for the back-to-school season. The Teacher's Toolbox program (http://www.smilebox.com/go/teacherstoolbox), which first launched in the spring of 2008, provides teachers with a free annual subscription to its premium Club Smilebox service (a $39.99 value). As part of the program, educators will have unlimited access to more than 900 Smilebox designs, special offers, and newsletters with ideas on how to enhance creative classroom communication and participation.

"We're delighted to offer this program to our hard-working teachers as they start the new school year," said Andrew Wright, founder and CEO of Smilebox. "Regular communication to parents and students is vital for teachers and can be time consuming. Smilebox makes it fun, fast and easy for busy teachers to share classroom updates and school memories in creative ways."

Teacher's Toolbox is a safe and easy way for teachers of all grade levels to share classroom activities. With the Teacher's Toolbox service, teachers can:

  • Create newsletters, slideshows and updates from classroom projects, field trips, and school activities.
  • Capture photos throughout the school year to make photo albums and yearbooks.
  • Acknowledge effort and participation with award and merit certificates for students.
  • Send overviews of teaching units for at-home learning and modeling for parents.
  • Create digital or printed invitations for guests to classroom and school events.
  • Engage students in creative activities through storytelling, biographies, and scrapbooks with photos.

After simply dragging and dropping photos and videos into a Smilebox design, teachers can share their one-of-a-kind creation in many ways. It can be sent through email, school blog or website or burned to DVD or photo frame. A Smilebox creation can also be printed at school or a retail store to display on a bulletin board, or sent home to students' parents.

With new designs added each week, Smilebox helps inspire teachers with fresh ideas for every holiday, season, and special occasion. Additionally, teachers will have access to designs created by leading digital artists such as Caroline Gardner, Designer Digitals, Sweet Shoppe Designs, Petite Lemon, and its internal group of designers at Smilebox Studios.
